Many years ago, the Irish were not a rich culture and the land they farmed were the perfect soil conditions for growing potatoes plus there are many many ways you can prepare potatoes!.

breads
french fries
home fries

They don't any more!. But when they were very poor, they ate potatoes because they were cheap and abundant!. An acre of soil in Ireland will yield 5 times as much food in the form of potatoes as in wheat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
