This thread is full of arrogance ignorance racial-hatred, and bigotry!. At first I was going to ignore but then I decided to make a few passing comments
1!. British entered India in 1640 to trade spice under the order of the queen
2!. British married local woman, wore local clothes, ate local foods till 1856!.
They had little choice!. British woman were not allowed to enter India till 1856
3!. British would rule India till 1947!. From 1856 to 1947 British did not socialize with Indian at the same level!. The British women looked down upon Indians as their servant only!. But British really liked the food!. They are the one who created the first 'curry powder'!.
4!. After 1956 Indians started to come to UK and settle there!. These restaurants became an oasis for returning British!.
5!. India was the largest British colony!. British have only two close allies in the world India and USA!.
6!. British invented Worcestershire sauce based on Indian Chutney from Bengal!. The last invention is Chicken Tikka Masala!.

The Indian and British history goes back over 4 centuries!. The least people in this thread can do is have a civil discussionWww@FoodAQ@Com

If you've only had it a few times, then you've not sampled the amazing range of food that gets labelled 'curry'!.

There are so many varieties! From hot and spicy to mild and creamy!. Fruity, veggie friendly, subtle, flavoursome, rice-based, grilled meats, fried things, saucy ones, dry curries!.!.!.the list goes on!

Britain has a lot of links with India, Pakistan and other countries whose traditional food can be described as 'curry'!. So the cuisine has been in the UK for a long time!. It's certainly different over here to how it's eaten in its country of origin (just like Italian or French food can be pretty different in Italy and France than in the UK or US!) but I think the British have embraced it because it's so packed full of unusual flavours, which traditional (old-fashioned) British cooking didn't really used to have!. Curry is very different to meat and two veg!

So I'd say, give 'curry' another chance! Fair enough, it's not for everyone, but with so much to choose from, there's bound to be something you would like there!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Because sadly most British actually believe curry is they're national food, I bet some even believe it came from Britian!. Although there is true British food, most of which is pretty healthy, the result of uncontrolled, unregulated immigration is that most British people know nothing of there own native traditions and customs and end up adopting customs and cultures of other races!. What's even worse is, the immigrants are maintaining their own cultures in Britian and we're merely assimilating to them!. Britian is becoming worryingly diluted!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It would make sense that the British love curry because of their prior occupation in India!. The national food of the British is Chicken Tikki Marsala which is traditionally an Indian dish!.

If you've ever tried any authentic British food, you would realize why they would prefer Indian food!. Here are some examples of authentic British food: Traditional English Breakfast, Bangers & Mash, Fish & Chips, Blood pudding, etc!. If anyone ate these dishes every single day, people might realize just how unhealthy this stuff really is!

We developed our taste for curry over a long period of time!.
The British Raj brought it here with families returning from postings in India in the 19th century!. I think the 1st curry house opened in London in the late 19th early 20th century!.
Kedgeree is based on an Indian dish!.
We now have a diverse population & eat a diverse diet!.
You will find that we can access a greater variety of foods here than any where else in the world!.
Indian, Chinese,Caribbean etc etc!.
Oh dont forget the good old kebab on the way home from the pub!.
