Canadian food is a mix of all cultures' foods because Canada is a multi-cultural society!.

However, if you want things that are distinctly Canadian, then these are some of my faves:

- pea soup
- peameal bacon
- smoked salmon
- maple syrup
- wild rice
- poutine

Poutine, for sure!. It's gone from working class to gourmet!.

It's cheese curds over French fries and gravy!. It is a fast food staple in Canada, eh!

A large part of Canada is made up with French people and another part is made up with Scotch!. I recall when I traveled in Canada as a child having for the first time white vinegar on my french fries, Think Canadian foods would be more likely the same as French in most parts!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Tourtiere !.!.!.although it does have European origins!.!.!.it is a pork pie!.made with potatoes and spices!.!.!.!.make in a deep dish (called a 'tourtiere', closely linked with the word 'tart' or 'tourte')
