Does real Chinese food have as much sugar as American Chinese food?!


Question: Does real Chinese food have as much sugar as American Chinese food!?
American Chinese food seems unique among cuisines in that the sauces of its savory dishes (General Tso, Sweet and Sour, duck sauce, sometimes even Szechuan, etc!.) are actually sweet!. Most other cultures save sugar for dessert!. Is real Chinese food as sugary as American Chinese food!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

It all depend on the nationality and ethnic group your question applied to!. Take the Thai of Chinese descent, they had accustom to the ways the Thai people consumed their food!. They add sugar onto most noodles or soup beside other condiments!.

Certain ethnic Chinese, would add sugar for cooking whilst other don't!. S!.E!. Asian Chinese would not use sugar for cooking unless it is required, just like the dish you had entioned, "Sweet & Sour"!.
I had never been to U!.S!. so I can't really comes to the conclusion that American Chinese food is sugary!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

The real Chinese food, as I stayed a while in China and Hong Kong , use more msg ( monosodium glutamate ) in cooking than sugar!. This msg is to make the food more tasty !. There is no actual proof to show that msg is harmful to health but it makes you thirsty and crave more for the food if you get used to it!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Chinese people especially the older ones do not like sweet!. I see a lot of people ordering milk teas and coffees and they all say little or no sugar!.
