Almond jelly i think!. It tastes great doesn't it!? Www@FoodAQ@Com
Yes, it is Almond jello, and served with almond juice and Leechees!.
We learned how to make it in the Chinese Cooking class years ago!.
It was served on Chna Airways in first class, too, as there are not too many desserts to choose from in China!.
Dim Sum is something totally different and not served with the Almond Jello!. It is a special meal of tiny delicious 2 bites or one mouthful of savoury steamed assortments!. A cart of several types passes your table, you choose and afterwards the saucers are counted for the price, they come on a saucer in fours!. Oh! heaven!
Not all restaurants have Dim Sum and they are only served at one time in the day!. Maybe 12 noon until 2pm then NO MORE! They are to die for and take ages to make!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I know exactly what you mean!. I found a blog that talked about sweet lotus root jelly squares!. The one I had had water chestnut bits in it!.
They served it in the same cart with the turnip cake, and they were grilling it, too!. So it wasn't gelatin-based!. It was probably thickened with cornstarch or some other starch!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I believe it's almond jello, because when I go to eat dim sum I sometimes get little white cubes of almond jello to eat for dessert!. Almond jello usually tastes very nutty and sweet, so this may be what you are talking about!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Is it sweet!? If it is, then it is almond gelatin, a traditional dessert in China!.
Is there meat inside!? If so, then it is called jellied meat (gross), a delicacy made of pigs' legs and water!.
Hope I helped!Www@FoodAQ@Com
