Answers:
If your tawa is made out of cast iron, you will need to wash it with a little soapy water and dry it thoroughly before seasoning it!. Just rub the tawa with a little oil and bake it in the oven for 1 hour at 350 deg F!. It should turn black!. You may need to "re-season" after repeated use!.

You can wash your tawa with a light brush and water, it's used mainly for chapatis, rotis, dosas!.!.!.!.so it shouldnt be very difficult to clean!.

Your tawa sounds like an aluminium alloy tawa!. If it's an aluminum non stick tawa, just wash it with a little soapy water and then use!. Non stick tawas are usually pre-seasoned and ready to use!. Just spread a thin later of oil over the surface and heat!. Grill your roti or chapati!.

Do NOT use metal spatulas as they will scratch your non stick surface!. Do not use any abrasive cleansers or scrub pads!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Being Indian i know a tava well, handy utensil to have in the kitchen!.You do not state what material it is made of,in India we can get iton tavas of varied thivkness depending on the main job you use it for & of coirse your preferanve!.Thick iron tavas take longer to heat but spread their heat evenly so are good for making rotis,Indian flat nread!.thinner tavas are good for frying or broiling!.
Warm sopay water is all that is needed ,first time around cean it with hot soapy water ,stand upright to dry,a light coating of oil & then heat on a moderate flame, all the seasoning a new tave needs!.A non stick tava will need care as any non stick utensil ,careful handling,no abrasives ,handled well a tava should give years of service !.Www@FoodAQ@Com
