How much food do i need to do a buffet for 100 people?!

Question: How much food do i need to do a buffet for 100 people!?
Answers:
smikesie - you are incorrect!. I am a caterer and make food for weddings, bar mitzvahs, anniversaries & more!. Everyone who hires me asks that there is enough food -

The rule of thumb is always make sure your guests have enough - it is embarrassing if you run out of food!.

In answer to the question, it depends on what foods you are having!. Let's take chicken pieces, for an example!. Again the "rule of thumb" is that each adult guest will have 2 to 3 pieces, children average 1 to 2 pieces!.

For a garden salad, you will need 7-8 large bags of salad mix!.

For most other salads, figure on approx!. 1/3 to 1/2 pound per person!. (5 oz to 8 oz per person)

For brisket, you will need 6-8 ounces per person!. For stew, I make 4
industrial size crock pots (21 quarts)!.

If you email me and let me know what types of foods you want, I would be happy to give you my estimations!.

Not enough is better than too much!. Trust me on this one, you wont be able to get rid of the excess food, hardly anyone will want to take anything home with them and so much food will be wasted!. Buffets contribute significantly to this frightening statistic; one third of the food we buy ends up being thrown away!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It depends on what food you are serving on your buffet!.
It also depends most guys each more than girls!.
