umm yeah here im talking about proper japanese food!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's not an appetizer if that's what you're asking!. They don't really have them the same way we do!. It's more like a whole bunch of side dishes that can be eaten and served at any time instead of before a meal!. Tsukemono would be a good example, as well as karaage and edamame!. In modern times, French fries (pommes frites/chips) are also popular at many Japanese-style restaurants!.

Like 'angel' said, miso soup is probably the only thing that they intentionally give you BEFORE other stuff!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

For Japanese dinning, sushi is usually taken after having all other dishes!. Such manner, as sushi is a rice base food, it's to fill ones' food intake for a satisfying meal!. Sushi can also be taken on its own as a meal!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
