Since it sounds like it's the raw fish that is the issue for you, you should totally try the cooked and semi-cooked sushi rolls (maki)!. Here are a few ideas:

- Tempura shimp roll - its fried shimp, so it's fully cooked!. You can get it spicy, or regular, and some restaurants serve it with veggies inside!.
- Any rolls that are listed as being flash fried - the fish inside gets partially cooked (like how seared tuna is cooked on the outside, rare on the inside)!.
- Rolls with chicken or beef in them - the meats are normally fully cooked!.
- Alaskan or California rolls, which are made with cooked (or imitation) crab!.
- Any veggie based rolls - cucumber, avocado, pickled veggies, etc!.
- Smoked salmon rolls - the salmon is not raw, it's like lox!.

Try the shrimp nigiri - a non-roll sushi peice!. The shrimp is steamed and then sits on top of some rice!. This was my "crossover" sushi experience, and how I learned to eat the raw stuff :) Www@FoodAQ@Com

Be creative, sushi is not limited to raw fish, even in Japan! I am very picky about fish and hate eggs, so I like to experiment with seaweed, grilled shitake mushrooms, grilled carrot, avocado, boiled lotus root, etc!. also, consider experimenting with the rice!. You could use brown rice, or add sesame seeds to the rice for more depth of flavor (and its healthier than polished white rice)!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I buy sushi at Fresh Market and they label whether the fish, shrimp, etc!. is raw or cooked!. I always get the cooked!. I have tried many types, but now I usually go with the spicy shrimp or lobster rolls or the California roll!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Maki rolls are the way to go!. (Seaweed rolled)!. Try tempura fried vegatables as a filling!. The crunch of the breading provides a nice contrast to the soft sushi rice!.

also any marinated veggies will do fine!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
