Is it really that much better to make your own empanada dough?!

Question: Is it really that much better to make your own empanada dough!?
I usually use pre-made rounds of pastries!. Just like when I make greek food I use frozen phyllo!.!.!.I was a baker years ago but I do not see why I should make the mess!?!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
the empanada dough I used to make had achiote oil in it and it had a different texture than the filo dough!.
More hearty!. The pastry rounds should be fine!. I can't see the benefit in going to all that trouble!.

I'll have to try filo and maybe mix a little achiote oil with the butter for between the sheets!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Ah, Empanadas!.!.!.!.!.delicious and a lot of work!. My mother was from Argentina and she and my grandmother would always be in the kitchen working hard to make the empanada dough from scratch!. All of my family members know the recipe and have tried to re-create the dough recipe but we have never come close to how she made it!.

So we have found a wonderful substitute for empanada dough:

Goya Dough discs!. You can find them in the frozen food section with other frozen dough, breads, etc!. They taste very good and it is less of a mess!

Give it a try and let me know what you think of it!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

You have answered your question
you can buy the dough and have decided the time and waste!.!.is not worth the pride of doing and knowing your skill!.
