Authentic hot and sour soup is made with tiger lilly buds, "cloud ears" (dried tree fungus), bean curd, julienned bamboo shoots and black mushrooms, white vinegar, cornstarch to thicken it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

2 tbsp cornstartch, 4 tbsp water, 2 tbsp light soy sauce, 3 tbsp rice wine viegar, 1/2 tsp black pepper, 1 egg, 2 tbsp vegetable oil, 1 onion, 3 3/4 cups chicken consomme, 1 open cap mushroom, 1 3/4 oz skinless chicken, and 1 tsp sesame oilWww@FoodAQ@Com

Sweet and sour is a chicken-based stock with white meat chicken, green onion, tofu, yellow wax beans, and vinegar added!. It may also involve red pepper flakes!.

Edit: Duh, I meant hot and sour!. I don't know of a sweet and sour soup!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
