What exactly is BASQUE food?!


Question: What exactly is BASQUE food!?
I know its an area in France!? I went to a restaurant and me and my friends got "the setup" which consisted of the first course some kind of bland cabbage soup that they give you some salsa and bland pinto beans to mix in and bread, then spaghetti, corn, something else and french fries!?! hah i didnt eat anything but the garlic fries!. I just thought it was a random array of food, and it was verrrrry expensive!. Just break it down to me!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think the only thing Basque about your meal was the way the courses came!. It's often served family style like that!. Lamb is a main meat in basque food!. Beans too, but not bland pinto beans!.They also eat a lot of seafood!.

Basque is between France and Spain, it overlaps the two countries and don't consider themselves either french or spanish, they are Basque!.

There's a pretty good basque restaurant in Los Banos, CA!. called
The Wool Growers, if you're ever in that area try it out!.

Basque used to have a lot of sheep herders, and a lot of them emigrated to the California central valley years and years ago!. A lot of Basque restaurants around there!.

Basque is in Spain!. Northeastern region, bordering France, they are separated by the Pyrenees mountains!.

Basque Country is in NE Spain, their language is like no other!. they eat A LOT of seafood and have many men-only supper clubs!. sweet red peppers are used in many dishes & salt cod is very popular!.
