Question: Making miso soup; you need the seaweed and the fish base or flakes!?
and scallions, tofu, and spinach if you want etc, but what are the proportions!? I make the base first, using the fish flakes or liquid fish base (which is better, I ordered both) and then add the miso paste and then the rest and how much miso and base do I use!? TY to anyone who has done this, I love Kikkoman instant miso but it's almost 3!.00 a packet!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

This is about as easy as it gets!

MISO SOUP

Ingredients:

* 3 cups dashi soup stock
* 1 block tofu
* 3-4 tbsps miso paste
* 1/4 cup chopped green onion

Preparation:

Put dashi soup stock in a pan and bring to a boil!. Cut tofu into small cubes and add them to the soup!. Simmer the tofu for a few minutes on low heat!. Scoop out some soup stock from the pan and dissolve miso in it!. Gradually return the miso mixture in the soup!. Stir the soup gently!. Stop the heat and add chopped green onion!. Remember not to boil the soup after you put miso in!.

that's the sweet thing about soup!.!.I get the recipe for the ingredients, but other than that I go buck wild and add whatever I want and however much I want!. it's really to your taste and there's no wrong way to do it!.

TIP: start small, you can always add more, but you can't really take anything out once it's in there!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you need "dashi" japanese fish stock!.
there is instant dashi powder available at asian grocery store!.

water,dashi bring to boil!.then disolve miso!.
portion of water,miso are written on the package!.
so you can adjust as much you need!.

miso soup's tofu,green onion is popular!.
you can use,many green leaves,eggplant,egg,pumpkin
combination is endless!.
