Answers:
I love Indian food! My mom's friend used to make cookies for my family and she called them sweet cookies!. They were the best cookies I've ever tasted!. The taste was so different that's what made them good!.
Another time when I lived next door to a couple from Pakistan they made a delicious meat dish with rice!. That was very good too because of the spices!.
Then when I was in highschool for multicultural day my mom's friend made an Indian soup and it was very good too!.
It's always nice to try new things!. Makes American's realize that traditional American food isn't the only thing out there!.
Can I come over for dinner too!?!?!?!?!?!? PleaseWww@FoodAQ@Com

I also love Indian food!. I was a little terrified the first time I ate it after hearing horror stories of the heat but I was very pleasantly surprised!. That was 10 years ago and I haven't looked back!. My favorites are dahl, matar paneer, channa masala, and paneer makhani!. I prefer naan over chapati and eat a ton of rice!.

My only suggestion is to be gentle with the heat and focus on the savoury spices!. I dated an Indian for a long time and we'd fight over the heat every time!. If he cooked he would load it with red pepper and I couldn't eat it!. If I cooked he would say it was bland and dump another teaspoon of red pepper on his plate!. Might just be me though, my sister (also non-Indian) can keep up with my ex in terms of the heat and loves it!.

We're all vegetarian too, so we didn't have any meat issues, but I want to second what someone else said about taking the bones out of chicken!. Several of my friends who eat meat were pretty grossed out when I've taken them to my favorite Indian restaurant and the chicken curry had a whole chicken thigh with bones in it!. If your family eats meat and leaves the bone in it might be more pleasing for some people if you traded for boneless, skinless chicken breast!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

O!.k!. here is the deal, you don't have to be Indian to like Indian food!. I'm Asian, spicy food is not too different from our taste!. Ask your friend or your friend's parents if they like spicy food!. Than you can ask your mom to make it according to their taste bud!. However, keep it Indian but adjust the spices!. You could make tandoori chicken or curry chicken, basmati rice/chapati for the main course, samosa for the appetizer, and some really good dessert to finish off so that way they will remember the meal for a long time to come!. Trust me, once they taste the food, I"m sure they'll definitely come back again!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am not Indian but I do love Indian food!. I have alot of Indian friends and the home made food is very good and healthy!. I like the variety of dals and vegetables Indian food has to offer!. I think most people will enjoy chicken curry and rice!. It's a good cultural experience for both familes, enjoy your guests and dont sweat the menu!. I am sure whatever you decide to make they will like and they're probably looking forward to a home cooked Indian dinner :)

my favs are bhindi masala, palak paneer, biryani, baingan bhartha, dal makhani, butter chicken, rogan josh, aloo gobi, chicken tikka masala, raita, naan, papads!.!.!.!.!. yes, I cheated and looked up the spellings on my takeout menu :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am a Caucasian American, and I like Indian food, but my husband doesn't!. I always like the Indian food in the restaurant!. I like that thing with the spinach and the cheese cubes, and I like lamb korma!. Actually, I like anything with lamb!. I once went to an Indian family's home for dinner!. The wife said she didn't like to make spicy food, so it would be mild!. Her idea of mild and my idea of mild were worlds apart!. It nearly killed me!. It was very tasty, but it was SO HOT! I couldn't sleep all night afterward and had nightmares, the food was so spicy!. And she kept giving me more food and I didn't want to insult her!. So I would mention to you to be aware that some Americans live most of their lives without ever putting chili peppers in any of their food (like me) so we can be very sensitive to spices!.

So, be gentle with the chili, and with the curry also!.

Ooh, and I really like that jasmine rice too!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I love it! Only one recommendation, once I ate the rice with chicken with the spice you put in it, but the person that made it kept the chicken bones in it!. Just make sure the chicken bones are out, I am not sure if it is made like that or that person particularly did it!.

But yeah Great food!. I am mexican and my husband is white, I do a lot of spicy food for him and his friends and they love it, so don't worry not all that white people eat is blandWww@FoodAQ@Com

I'm not Indian but I love Indian foods!. My faves are Kasmiri style and south Indian (vegetarian, mustard seeds and spicy)!. Half my friends like it, the other half aren't so fond!. I wouldn't know how to Americanize it except that use "familar meats" if a recipe calls for goat or lamb, you may try replacing it with chicken!. Maybe omitting certain ingredients like asofetida may Americanize it!. Good luck! I really love a good lamb vindaloo or a Vadavan spiced lentils!. I do love palak paneer and my all time favorite dessert is kheer made with rice =)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I absolutely ADORE Indian food!. I love dal, curries, naan (of course), paneer!. Basically, all of it! I don't really like the egg curry that I've had in some restaurants!. I'm a vegetarian, so I don't eat the non-veg stuff, but I love it all!.

Just cook it traditional-style!. Keep it mild to medium (or ask how hot they like it) and just make it like usual!. They're so lucky!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I love Indian food!. So does the rest of my white, Jewish family!.
I'm sorry I'm not really good with the names of the food!.!.!. I like curry!.!.!.and just rice and pita, haha!. Once I had this great lamb dish, too, and samosas are AWESOME! Tandoori chicken is usually popular with my friends!.
I like spicy foods, so does my family, but everyone's different!.

Hope this helped! Good luck :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

My hubby is from bangladesh and i am an american!. I have learned how to cook all the dishes and found that to make them more palatable keep the food from being too spicy and and try to stay away from foods or spices that carry an acquired taste like whole cardamon
hope that helps you

just relax your friends are in for a real treat i am sure!Www@FoodAQ@Com

it should be ok!. it would be great if more people would be open to trying new, different foods!. food is a great way to introduce people to a different culture!.

start with 'easy' foods that aren't too spicy; i don't think you can go wrong with rice and chicken dishes!. samosa is easy to eat too!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I LOVE Indian food!
I like anything with a big spicy kick to it but it might be a good idea to tone down the spice for people new to this food!.
Im sure that your guests will be more than happy to try something new!. Especially if it's as good as i think it will be!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Maybe you can use less chilies and spices to make the food more easy for American white people to enjoy!. I like Indian food and the chillies they use in north Indian dishes!. I think this type of food is not so spicy than other Indian region!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hell, yeah! NOTHING should be changed! Spices and all!. Biryani's, Masala's, Butter and Tandoori Chickens, Nans and Chappattis !.!.!. all washed down with sweet or sour lassi !.!.!. hmmm, better look up and Indian restaurant !.!.!.my mouth is already watering!

One Love !!!
