Sofrito is a key ingredient in Caribbean food!.!. mainly Puerto Ricans, Dominicans and Cubans!.!.!. we usually use it to give flavor of rice/beans or chicken/rice or arroz con Guandules!.!. we also use it to flavor the meats such as chicken, Beef, Pork, etc!.!.!. try finding recipes on all of these kinds of food, you need to know how to make most of these to have a good use of the Sofrito!. But if you want to start using it right away just use it to cook some chicken you will see a good flavor brought into it!. Okay start with 10 oz!. sofrito, 1 can gandules, 2 packs of Sazon Con Culantro y anchiote and 4 Sazon sin achiote- (Goya- in ethnic aisle in grocery) 3 cups long grain rice and some olives and 1/2 cup oil!. Stir until rice is thoroughly coated!. Add 6 cups stock or water and bring to hard boil- do not stir for a while - you want to let cook for a while!. Stir- lower heat and cover!. Do not stir again- the crust that forms on the bottom is awesome!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sofrito is the beginning of many Spanish recipes, much like the Cajun trinity of bell pepper, onion and celery!. Use in sauces or as a starter for fish, seafood, chicken, sausage, etc!. (Paella)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

We use sofrio almost 4 times a week in this house lol , its used alot here in Puerto Rico as a base for alot of dishes you can use it for soups , any kind of meat dish, alot of rice dishes !. Www@FoodAQ@Com
