I am a former chef and worked in Singapore and love it, I have eaten it in many forms from fresh, in paste form, made ice cream with it, in cakes and Chinese pastry's, in sorbets and popsickles even used there in creme brulee topped with palm sugar and glazed!.

It is something you either like or don't plain a nd simple, like limburger cheese most people have an issue with it's pungent aroma, but when ripe and serve properly it is an experience you never forget!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes I have tried it!.

Personally I think it tastes nice however I agree with the 2 people above me that it's something you'll either love or hate!.Hard to describe the taste really-it has a taste of caramel but also other tastes and a weird texture!.You really have to try it to know if you'll like it!.

It really does smell awful and is famous for that-that doesn't mean it's gone bad,it's normal!.Unless you travel to Asia you may well find obtaining it hard as many airlines and shipping companies won't transport it due to the foul smell!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Me, I'm Chinese from Malaysia, especially Durian season Jun and July every year, you can see people selling durian everywhere!. It taste very good, the better the durian, the bitter it taste, cuz we likes its smells!. When I was a kid, I don't like to eat it, cuz I think it's stinks, but once I try it, I love it until now! You love or you hate it!. It's nice for me to know that people had experiences with durians before!. Anyway, I think it tastes good but the smell can be putrid!. I know since my mom likes eating durian flavored wafer bars! Some people find the taste unuasual and spit it out!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

All I know is that you would either hate it or love it!. NOTHING IN BETWEEN, lol!.
It smells like worn socks with sneakers!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
