like one of your other answerers said we often eat foods that we prepare in a french way, something like Filet Mignon, for example, or Chicken Cordon Bleu!. almost anything with a cream or wine sauce!. that kind of thing!. and yes french fries, not just a joke, Thomas Jefferson brought them back from his visits to France (wherever they came from before that, he definitely brought them from France)!. probably depends where you live too!. if you live in New Orleans, you can eat French-derived food just about every day!. how bout French coffee!!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Frites (what you call French fries, which are actually from Belgium)

casserole (a descendent of the French classic cassoulet)
sausages (Italy and France both)
Anything involving the concept of slow-roasting; that roasted chicken, a pot roast, pork, etc!.!.!.the entire concept is French in nature!. The "slow food" movement!? That's pure French, baby!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Salade Nicoise
Pain Perdu (French toast)
Note: French fries were not actually invented in France, but in Belgium!.
