What types of fish are commonly eaten in Japan?!
We always hear about how the Japanese are healthy and that they eat a lot of fish!. But, what types of fish do the Japanese commonly eat!? If you go to a Japanese restaurant you can find just about anything, but I want to know what actual families have often!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

The types of fish that most people are familiar with (served at sushi bars) are not eaten by most families, as they are very expensive!. Even in Japan!. Most families eat the following:
Aji = Mackerel
Sanma = Saury
Saba = Spanish Mackerel
Shishamo = Smelt
Most of these are partially dried, which is less expensive, as opposed to fresh!. I buy mine online at Japan Super - www!.japansuper!.com

raw fish- as everybody know sushi,sashimi!.
also there are many semi-dried fish!.
probably this form of fish is the most often eaten at house,restaurant

Mackerel Pike( sanma)

Tempura, Sashimi(raw fish), Vegetables fish boiled hard with soy sauce, and fry!.
If you eat white fish, you should eat Vegetable fish boiled hard with soy sauce or fry, when you eat lean fish, you should eat as Sashimi or tempura!.

i think they eat alot of cod and white fish!. Shark, with whales i think they use certain organs for medicinal purposes!.
