Japanese tea like you get in Japanese Restaurants.?!


Question: Japanese tea like you get in Japanese Restaurants!.!?
I loved the special green tea that Japense and Chinese restaurants used to serve with their meals!. Most of them around here don't serve it anymore but have changed over to basic black tea!. I have tried to find it in stores but some I have tried just don't cut it!. Do you know where it can be found!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

real japanese green tea is nothing like Americanized green tea!.
you can buy tea leaves at asian grocery store!.
'asian' store doesn't mean they know all asian country's products!.
so preferably japanese grocer!.

I see "ito-en" which is japanese tea companies bottled green tea!.
their tea is real!. they have few different kind of tea!.

if it's not green tea, it could be
jasmine
oolong
houji-cha
genmai-cha

try real green tea,then if it's not what you are looking for,
try those above!.

All my in-laws are Asian, and we all like the Oolong tea!. Both Bigelow and Twinings make it, and you can usually find it in the regular grocers!. It is not considered a green tea, however, it is considered a "black" tea!. Although it may appear to be green or brown in color!. The finer Chinese restaurants will serve Oolong tea!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can find all kinds and types of Japanese teas at Japan Super!. Look under the Beverage category!. They carry T-bags, leaf and powders!.

Chinese restaurants do not serve green tea!. They usually serve Jasmine or Oolong!. These can also be found at Japan Super!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Oolong or Green Tea is sold in the regular grocery stores here in Ohio!. Bigelow is the kind I like in restaurants-I asked and they said sometimes Lipton too!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Have you tried Jasmine tea!? You should be able to find it at most any grocery store!. If not, try an Asian Market!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
