Either look for one that has a buffet or see if the one you went to has one on another night!. It's always best to try a buffet when your not sure what to eat, that way you can try a little bit of everything!. Most indian places do offer a buffet if not every night, one night per week!. Otherwise, it depends on what you like!. For chicken dishes I'd recommend Chicken Masala, Chicken Saag (spinach sauce), Chicken Tandoori and Chicken Vindaloo!. For Lamb/Beef (if they have beef) Josh Rogan and Lamb Saag, both are lamb dishes!. Vegetarian, gobi masala (cauliflower and potatos) and Saag Paneer (cheese cubes w/ spinach sauce)!. also, try a few other items, samosas (meat or vegetarian), naan or paratha (tandoori breads), raita (a yougurt sauce for dipping and adding to your food), mango lassies (a mango yogurt smoothie) and masala tea (hot tea similiar to chai add milk if they haven't and sugar if you like)!. Dessets, try kheer (a indian rice pudding) and gulab jamun (yummy cheese balls of goodness- sounds a little weird one of the best desserts ever)!. I'd recommend either ordering your food mild at first, medium if you like food hot to see how spicy your place makes the food!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

aww, sad!. =[ well, usually an Indian cuisine restaurant will serve nan (some kind of flat bread)!. to complement that you should get a curry!. their curries are filled with taste bud enlightening spices! Indian restaurants usually also serve lamb!. i'm not a big lamb person myself, but you may like it!. if they have TIKKA MASALA, GET IT! ^_^ there's this Indian cuisine restaurant near my home that serves that and i ALWAYS get it!!.!.!. well, good luck, and i hope you find something you like!. =]Www@FoodAQ@Com

I understand how trying new ethnic food for the first time can be a little scary!.

I don't like extremely spicy food and I definately like the Chicken Tikka Masala!. It is chicken cubed and cooked in a tomato sauce with onion/green peppers!.

I also recommend the curry with Shrimp!.

Pour items over rice and eat in the Naan Bread like mini tacos!!!

Naan is like a thin pita bread!.!.!.!.but SOOO much better!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've always loved samosas!. I usually get the veggie ones!. They are deepfried little pastries you can also get filled with meat!. I used to love Palak Paneer (spinach and cheese)

My meat eating friends like Tandoori Chicken and Laal Mas something with Lamb!.
I've attached the website that does pretty good translatingWww@FoodAQ@Com

I can't help you with names unless I had a menu in front of me, but any Indian vegetable dish in any sauce that I have had was delicious!. When I go to ethnic restaurants, it takes me a bit to read the descriptions!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Vindaloo, biriyani, samosas, dal, poppadums, any of the breads (naan, puri, chapati) !.!.!. there usually is a yogurt-based beverage that can be salty or fruity !.!.!. I'm making myself hungry, writing this :-)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Go to a buffet, then you can taste them all and figure out what it is you like!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I like chicken curry, Lamb curry, Dal, Tandoori chicken!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
