I really need help finding this mexican sweet bread (Pan dulce)?!
They are called "Elotitos"!. I am looking for the recipe and CANNOT find it anywhere! Its a football (oval) shaped bread!. It has a Vanilla Custard Filling, and has lines indented in the bread on the outside, along with sugar sprinkled all over it!. I moved to the south, and have no chance of finding any mexican or ehtnic food anywhere near my location!. I have resorted to learning how to make my favorite foods myself!.

From what I know the name Elotito is in reference to the shape of the pan dulce!.
"el cuernito, la concha, el cochito or el elotito (the horn, the shell, the pig and the corn cob)!." -Bonds of Bread
I don't know where in the south you are, but there might still be a Panderia sooomewhere!.
The main ingrediant I have seen in the heavy pan dulces is malt!. They have a lot of malt and often have lard!. I have also seen ground pecans!.!. and condensed milks!.
The light ones are easy to find a recipe for: http://www!.geocities!.com/coachcarmona/pa!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
