It's called "Poon Choy" in Cantonese and it's usually served during the Lunar New Year or in some villages when they have a celebration, like wedding or something!. Nowadays, you can buy this from some fast food chains in HK as a takeaway since most families now don't really cook during the Lunar New Year!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

It looks like a steamboat!. A steamboat is a big deep bowl of hot soup or stock in which a variety of meat, seafood and vegetables are placed in the bowl, and traditionally everyone at the table helps to mix the food into the hot soup to cook it, which is usually the fun part, and then after it has been mixed well, then everyone helps themselves!. Popular foods could include, chicken, duck, pork, beef, seafood, asian vegetables and sometimes rice noodles!. Usually a traditional steamboat used to be served on a little heating element to keep it hot, but because of safety issues at the table, a large pot of hot soup is kept near the table to refill the steamboat!.

Steamboats are very popular in Hong Kong, and most good Chinese restaurants serve it, although some might have it listed on their menu as a banquet dish!. You can also make one at home as well!. You just need lots of friends or family, a big pot or bowl, lots of food, and plenty of soup or stock!. Hope this helps!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It looks like a "hot pot" of some kind, what exactly it is depends on the ethniticity of the restaurrant you went to!.

I know the little green things on the edge are baby bok choy and it looks like sliced abalone on one side and a duck in the middle It could have been the tourist special (everything they had in a pot)
what I suggest is using the words "hot pot" with google images and putting "japanese" or "chinese" or Korean" in front of it and seeing what pops up!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Did you actually eat that!?
Your brave!

You get a star for that and I hope someone recognizes
