How do I open the coconut I bought?!

Question: How do I open the coconut I bought!?
Answers:
Coconut with no husk - a mature coconut!.
1!. Drain the juice by making a hole on the "nose" part which is the soft part on the top side of the coconut!.
2!. After draining, hold the coconut with the topside sideways, follow the seam and hit it with using the back of a butcher knife, or chef's kitchen knife until a crack appears!.
3!. Rotate the coconut and hit as close to where the crack starts to show!.
4!. Pry open!.

Yo can now get to the meat part but it's gonna be tough because its thick and hard!. Of course you can score the meat so you can get to it in pieces!. Or you may now need a coconut grinder!. This is another process!.

With husk - Young Coconut
1!. Score the husk up to the nut itself into 1 inch divisions!. Just as if you peel an orange!.
2!. Insert the knife and use it as a lever to pry the first scored section!.
3!. Peel of as necessary!. Continue doing this!.
4!. Follow the steps above Mature coconut - 1,2,3,4
Note: a young coconut is not as tough to crack open!. Use a spoon to get to the meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hehe!. We drink so much coconut juice, it's funny that I came across this question!. Did you buy the coconut in the brown hard nut or does it have a white husk around it!? There are few different ways of getting the juice out!. Here goes!.

If you bought the brown coconut with/out the husk, it's easy to crack it open to get the juice out!. If you have a big heavy knife, you can crack the coconut in the center of it with the back of the knife a couple of times!. Just make sure you have a big bowl to catch the juice when it's cracked open!. Once you cracked it and drain the juice out, use the tip of the knife to wedge it open!. When you opened it you can get to the flesh by using the knife to peel it out or spoon!. The easy way of getting the flesh if it's hard, scorch the flesh with the knife and peel it out afterward!.

also, you can use a hammer to crack it open as well!. It works almost like a knife!.

If you bought a coconut with the husk on, you have to have a big heavy knife, or something close to a butcher knife!. Sit the coconut on the flat surface and chop either the base or the end of your knife at the top of the coconut!. You probably need to do it three or four times around the top of the nut!. Once you get it open, get a big glass or a bowl and drain the juice out of it!. There you got it!. If you want to eat the soft nutty flesh, use the spoon to scoop the meat out!. Enjoy!.

As a matter of fact, I might have one tomorrow!. It's good!.

My family usually just holds it and chops off a part of the top, deep enough to get into the flesh but not deep enough to make all the milk spill out!. Then they drain the coconut into a glass, finish splitting it all the way, and carve the flesh out with a spoon!. Wikihow has a different method, though: http://www!.wikihow!.com/Open-a-CoconutWww@FoodAQ@Com

I use a screwdriver at the top, then bottom to drain the juice, en if you play with the screwdriver it will split the coconut easy

That's a good idea, a coconut!. I haven't had one in ages !Www@FoodAQ@Com
