Alligator is great meat!. It tastes much like pork if it has been on a diet of peoples pet dogs and cats like the one I had!.
On snake, I have had cobra and rattler!. It has the texture of filet mignon with a marbled meat!. Saying it tastes like chicken doesn't really fly!. It is normally a very bland taste!. You will definitely want some A-1 sauce on that!. One thing though!. Snakes and gators don't get much in the way of disease!. Just cook it medium or better to beat the possibility of samonella!.
Ants are nice and crunchy!. Much like pine nuts actually!. I don't care for the smell that goes with ants though!. An acrid smell yet often sweet!.
Both snake and ants go better with alcohol!. Gator is good by itself!. Best gator you want to slow barbeque!. Mine took a good 26 hours on the spit!. I also used some Ghee that gave it a nice flavor!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've had rattlesnake!. It does kind of taste like chicken, but there's very little meat on it!.
I would just like to point out for the record that Bear Grylls is a moron!. In the last episode I watched, he got stung in the face going after honey and his head swelled up and he went into anaphylactic shock!. Any real survivalist knows not to go after honey for exactly that reason!. It's empty sugar with no particular nutritional benefit, and not worth the risk!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I once tried alligator at a pretty nice restaurant in New Orleans - it was breaded and fried!. It is the consistancy of bubble gum and very difficult to chew or cut - it also has virtually no taste on it's own, dipping sauces were provided!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Both are very chicken like in flavor and texture!. I really like fried alligator!. You can get it at any cajun restaurant!. Rattlesnake's a bit harder to come by!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I have eaten some fried alligator!. It was like dark chicken meat, but a little gamy tasting and greasy!. We didn't really like it!. Same with rattle snake!. Frog legs too!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
