Question: Is it true that Italian food is really fattening!?
Answers:
Quite honestly its any food just about can be fattenting!. It is in all on how it is prepared and just how much you eat at one sitting!. so it being italian is irrelevant!.

take a look at fried foods, junk foods, battered foods, etc!.!.!.they are not all that healthy and considered very fattening as well!.

you can make just about any dish a healthy dish or somewhat healthier dish!.!.just by the way you prepare it!.

by not frying!.!.!.!.!.
broil and bake foods instead
add veggies
cut out the excess oils and grease
make low fat sauces
etc

it may take a bit longer sometimes but well worth it in the end if you like a particular dish and want to eat more healthy!.

It's not true about traditional Italian food!. However, just like Chinese food, what you buy at chain restaurants isn't the real stuff!. If you're talking about what you can get at Olive Garden and Macaroni Grill, then YES!. But, if you make simple, traditional Italian meals at home, using quality ingredients, or go to a GOOD Italian restaurant, it'll be really healthy!. If you use fresh, quality ingredients, then you don't need to add tons of salt, sugar and fat to create flavor (this is what crappy restaurants do, Italian or otherwise)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Every kind of food is fattening but if you eat small portions and exercise you can eat Italian or any other food!.

I do weight watchers and you can pretty much each anything!.

Of course the piece of lasagna has to be as big as the palm of your hand,
One cup of spaghetti and meat balls instead of the whole pot!.

Kind of!. The excess parmesan and mozzarella don't really help, nor does the enormous use of olive oil, which, while has healthier fats, is still mainly fat!. But in moderation, and the use of vegetarian sauces like the simple marinara, italian food can be pretty low-fat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Nope, Well, At Least No More Fattening Than Any Other Style Of Foods!.!.!.Italians Are Well Known For Eating Pasta, That Fills You Up Quickly With A Relatively Low Calorie Content!.
Its Only Really Fattening When You Have Lots Of Creamy Sauces Or Toppings On It!.!.!.

But In General Italian Food Is Not Really Fattening, Italians Apparently Have A Better Life Expectancy Due To There Diet Than The English

Not all of it is!. If you eat sausages and cream sauces and cheese it certainly is but grilled vegetables and fish and pasta with plain marinara is very healthy!. The Mediterranean diet is one of the healthiest in the world as long as you know what you are eating and control your portionsWww@FoodAQ@Com

if you look at an average italian,you will see that most of the population is thin,on the contrary for the americans,at least italian do not eat ham burgher and fries!.!.!.I rest my case!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

thats a very broad food group, some of it is, eg tiramisu etc!.!. but a lot of it has olive oil which has good oils that you need, but u just have to make sure you don't eat too much!.
