Anyone here good with japanese/chinese food?!

Question: Anyone here good with japanese/chinese food!?
I have recently been given a bag of japanese snacks as a present from a freind of a relative who is japanese and has recently had a home visit to Japan!.
The problem is, i dont know what half of the stuff is!.
I'll write down what they look like, i would ask the lady but i dont know her!.!.!. Ok!.!.!.

Theres a packet of (what looks like!.) meat/ginger stringy sort of strips of stuff that are beige/pink/brown colour!. Looks a bit like pama ham!.

There's some rice biscuits with rasins and nuts in them!.

and these long honey brown busicuits wrapped in a strip of seaweed!.

does anyone know what they are!? and if caution should be taken while easting them!? should i cook anything!? Do they taste horrible!? (lol)

Answers:
If I got whatever you described correct then they are all rice savouries, with either food colours or soya sauce!.
Most of their snacks are made from boiled rice paste!. They add spices and sauces to them, and mould them to the shapes they want!. Then they are sun dried or baked!. They do sometimes add sesame paste to some of them!.
Nothing requires cooking!.

I quite like 2nd one in you items!. If the seaweeds are crisp & salty i guess u'll like the 3rd one!. About the first one, I've never tried them!.!.!.
It's definitely not poisonous, but if you are allergic to sesame or soya, you should be careful about them!.
If you don't try u'll never know whether you like them or not :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm not sure about the first one!. Maybe it's dried cuttlefish!? That one might be a bit weird to you!.

About the second one: If they have raisins and nuts in them, they must be some sort of cookie!.

The third thing is osenbei!. They're rice crackers!. Kinda crunchy!. Some people don't the like the seaweed wrapper as they think it tastes fishy!.

None will kill you, and none require cooking!. You just have to try them out to see if you like them!. Maybe start with the cookies first!.

Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com
