Is there are grain that can be easily de-hulled by hand?!

You'd need to consider the climate where you live!.
In Scotland I understand oats were soaked so the meal comes off as a sediment and can be boiled like a porridge!. They are supposed to be hardier than barley!. Fairly high in carbs, protein and fat too!. I'm not sure however how much crop you'd get in a garden!.
What about chick peas, beans or some kind of lentil instead of a grain!? You might find the yield and processing easier on a small scale!? And pulses are good for protein
There are other crops like cassava (tapioca) but this is more starch than protein!.
