I agree with clam chowder and baked beans!. New England in general is known for having fresh seafood!. Other stuff that I can think of is maple syrup (especially in VT) and cranberries (big in MA), salt-water taffy (NJ), and clam bakes!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Lots of people in the Northeast US are descended from Italian immigrants, so pizza is so common some think it's an american food!. For the same reason simple pastas, like spaghetti, linguine or ziti are everywhere!.
One other food eaten by almost everyone is bagels!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

There's also Boiled Dinner, which was very common when I was a kid but I don't seem to hear much about it these days!. (It's a big chunk of corned beef or smoked shoulder, cooked for hours in a pot with cabbage and potatoes and carrots)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
