Question: How would you describe a sweet Tamal to a gabacho!?
ok i told this guy that a sweet tamal is like a mexican twinkie

how would you describe it to someone whos never had one before Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I wouldn't really describe it as being anything like a twinkie!.

Just explain that it's a sweet kind of dough with whatever flavors or fillings you have in it!.

It really is something that's hard to explain, but if they've ever eaten a regular tamale then just explain that it's more of a sweet dessert one!. Like how Americans have normal pizza with meat & cheese & then there are dessert pizzas too with sugar & cinnamon & stuff!.

Twinkie!?
I would describe it as corn bread with raisins, or pineapple inside of it, depending on the flavor that it is!.
I've seen two kinds of sweet tamales, with pineapple or with raisins or both!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
