I like to get sushi A lot and have noticed that some of the places I go to close from 2:30pm-4:30pm!. I am wondering if anyone knows why!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
i have heard that its because i lot of sushi chefs stay there all day, so they most of the time have a bed in the back so that the sushi chef can sleep, rest, nap so he'll be ready for the night crowd!. unlike the receptionist, there is rarely different shifts and he has to work the whole day, so most traditional places do close to allow the sushi chef to rest!. The cooks and servers take their nap!. I remember going to a Japanese restaurant within the hours you mentioned to inquire about holding a party there!. I had to knock on the door because it was locked and the "closed" sign up!. A lady opened the door and let me in and I saw some of the employees lying on the floor sleeping!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well it won't be busy at these hours and since sushi is prepared fresh on order the staff can take some time off!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

lol i think its al chinse restaurtnats type of things!. Its just not lunch huor so they close and cook for dinner hours thats why!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

They don't in BostonWww@FoodAQ@Com

Gives the place a chance to setup for dinner service!.!.!. where the sushi chef defrost more fish in the microwave!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
