Does anyone know how to make cheese bread from Turkey?!


Question: Does anyone know how to make cheese bread from Turkey!?
It was served at a restaurant outside the AF base in Incirlik!. I believe it's called pide, and it's a long flat bread covered in cheese and served with honey and strawberry jam!. Does anyone know how to make the flat bread and what kinds of cheeses were used on top!? Thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com

found this recipe years ago, and it, without doubt, the easiest, cheapest best way of making Turkish-flat bread
ingredients
250g of Self Raising flour
200g of natural yoghurt!.

preparation method
Knead until elastic!. Place in a bowl, cover and allow to sit for 30
mins!.
Divide into rounds, roll out until 3-4mm thick and dry fry in a cast iron pan, or on a BBQ grill!. yield: 12 flat breads

Pide (Quick Version)

500 g!. flour
1 pk!. dry yeast (+- 9 gr!. or 30 gr!. fresh)
250 ml!. lukewarm water
1/2 t!. salt
1 egg yolk
1 T!. olive oil
sesame seeds
sugar

Used for dipping, soaking up delicious sauces or juices, cut in wedges, sliced open and filled with wonderful things such as feta cheese, tomato and a little olive oil!

Dissolve the yeast in half of the warm water to which you have added a good pinch of sugar!.

Sift the flour into a large bowl with the salt and add the yeast water!.

Add the remaining water and knead until the dough is smooth, elastic and no longer sticky!.

Cover and allow to rise in a warm place!. In the mean time, heat the oven to 200° c!.

Turn out the dough onto a floured surface, knead briefly and shape into a round!.

With your fist, make a large indention in the center!. Dip two fingers into oil, press deeply in several places around the center (rather like a lozenge shape)!.

Place onto a well oiled sheet!. Beat the egg yolk slightly with the rest of the oil and 1/2 t!. sugar!. Paint the surface and sprinkle with a spoon of sesame seeds!.

Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
