Question: What's the name of the Thai dish that is a whole fried fish with spicy sauce!?
Answers:
I'm not so sure what kind of fried fish that you're referring to!. But I hope the following will help!.!.!.

Some Thai words:
fried = phad
deep fried = thod
crispy = krob

pla = fish
pork = moo
beef = nuea

So, fried fish is generally called "pla-thod" (pla = fish, thod = deep-fried) in Thai!. Fried fish that is crispy-fried is called "pla-thod-krob"!. But if you know the exact kind of fish (fried catfish for example), it is called "pla-dook-thod"!. Fried sea-bass (a popular kind of Thai fish) is called "pla-ka-phong-thod"!.

catfish = pla-dook
sea-bass = pla-ka-phong
carp fish = pla-kaarp
Thai carp = pla-sam-li
tuna fish = pla-thu-naa
swordfish = pla-cha-laad
goldfish = pla-thong
starfish = pla-dao

Just add the word "thod" (deep fried) at the end of the fish name!.
So, "pla-thong-thod" is fried goldfish, and "pla-dao-thod" is fried starfish [just kidding ;-) !.!.!. Thais never eat goldfish and starfish!. Only keeps them as pets in the home-aquarium]!. But the general pattern of names remain the same!.

Note :
"phad" also means fried, but only applies to rice, noodles, and similar kinds!. So, fried-rice is called "kao-phad" (kao = rice, phad = fried)!.

roasted, grilled, barbecued = yaang
fried = phad
deep fried = thod

pork = moo
beef = nuea
chicken = gai

Grilled beef (beef barbecue) is called "nuea-yaang"!. Grilled chicken (chicken barbecue) is called "gai-yaang"!. Grilled pork (pork barbecue) is called "moo-yaang"!.

sauce = sos (Thai pronounciation for "sauce")
hot-chili sauce, spicy sauce = sos-prik
tomato ketchup = sos-ma-koea-thet
oyster sauce = sos-nam-man-hoy
fish sauce = nam-plaWww@FoodAQ@Com
