Two shapes of pasta in one dish?!

Question: Two shapes of pasta in one dish!?
Are there any "traditional" pasta dishes that call for more than one shape of pasta!? My wife recently made a lasagna with the traditional noodles, but also used some leftover shell noodles!. It didnt hurt the dish at all, !.!.!. it kind of made it a little more interesting, but i am afraid that we all think "leftovers" if we find more than one shape of pasta in a dish!.
Is there any accepted dish that requires more than one shape of pasta in its recipe!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hi, I'm Italian!!.
The answer is no!.!.!.the problem is that different shape of paste need different cooking time!.!.!.so you can cook them separately, but it's a waste of time, or an half of your dish will be over cooked and the other half non-cooked!.!.!.

I admit that sometimes I cook 2 or 3 kind of pasta in the same dish but only because I would haven't enough!.

No body is going to arrest you if you mix some kind of pasta!.!.!.but you will never find real Italian recipes with more than one!.
