Question: How is it possible to eat sushi and not get sick!?
Answers:
First, fresh water fish is bad!. Never eat fresh water fish raw!.
Salt water fish is what is used in sushi (salmon still falls into this category even though it spends a little time in fresh water) for two reasons!.!.!.
1) Saltwater fish are safer to eat raw because the water actually helps to kill parasites and bacteria!. The salt in the water creates a hypertonic solution, where a higher concentration of salute (salt) exists outside of the bacteria cells than inside those cells!. To correct that imbalance, the bacteria cells release their water content through osmosis!. When they lose that water, they shrivel up and die!.
2) Cold temperatures below 40 degrees Fahrenheit (4 degrees Celsius) also stop bacteria reproduction!.

That is why you can eat certain fishes raw!.

With that said, the term 'sushi' does not mean 'raw fish'!. It actually means 'vinegar flavored rice' or 'spiced rice'!. If you go to a sushi bar, you can get sushi with raw fish, cooked fish, cooked other meats, vegetarian sushi, etc!.!.!.
So go get some sushi and try it!. If you don't think you'll like raw fish, get a different kind!. It's a very fun food to eat and to learn how to eat!.

(By the way, don't eat even salt water fish raw straight from your grocery store!. 'Sushi grade' fish is cared for better than just ordinary fish that the store is expecting you to cook!. Most seafood stores should know if their fish is 'sushi grade'!. If they don't, assume not!.)Www@FoodAQ@Com

some restaurants used fresh fish (tasty)and some used frozen one(bad taste)!. You can sick eat sushi if fish not fresh (old/not enough cold temperatur at sushi case) !.you can look if fish color already dark (color not shiny and back part brown/dark) or if you touch the fish sticky (not rice because rice sushi used vinegar and sugar so sticky) that fish is not fresh and don't eat it!.For salt water fish only salmon have to be freeze over night, because salmon have bacteria ,but after over night salmon is safe, so ask to chef first before ordering salmonsushi!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've eaten sushi with cooked ingredients since i was a little kid(3 or 4 years old) and started eating sashimi(raw fish) since i was 9 years old and never got sick from eating sushi!.

Eat sushi with cooked ingredients with cooked ingredients(egg, grilled eel, etc) and you won't get sick(from eating it)!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sushi itself refers to the rice used, and can be made with fully cooked meat!. Sashimi, or raw fish, can safely be eaten if it's fresh and not crawling with gross bacteria!. So if you wanted to try some, go to a reputable place with high grade stuff!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

To eat sushi without getting sick is simple for me!. I just don't eat the raw fish ( sashmi)!. Just eat the hand rolls, rolls, sushi, cooked fish, beans, teriyaki stuff etc!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
