I have never learned an Indian recipe or seen one in a book that requires MSG!. I own and Indian restaurant and I don't use it at all!. I think MSG is used as a flavour enhancer and Indian food does not really need it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
As a former chef most normal chinese food does not ADD MSG, but certain ingredients may have in them, as for Indian food again they do not add it but soups bases can have traces, Indian food relies on the spices, veg, aromatic and slow cooking!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Not all chinese food contains MSG!. However, Indian food may or may not contain MSG!. It depends on were you go to get it!. You should ask the restaurant for that information!.

MSG occurs in high levels naturally in tomatoes and in parmesan cheese, so Italian food has very high levels of it, as do Indian dishes made with tomatoes!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Any foods can contain MSG!. It is particularly prevalent in japanese and thai foods!. There is even MSG in a bag of walkers crisps - I checked!Www@FoodAQ@Com
