Answers:
I was persuaded to try "stinky tofu" once from a street vendor in southern China; it is a form of fermented tofu (very oily) with a repulsive strong odor which fouled the air from afar!. Aside from the overpowering aroma, the taste is not that bad; still an acquired taste (i'll pass)!. It's popular in East and Southeast Asia, particularly Taiwan, Indonesia, and China, and usually found at night markets or roadside stands!.

Unbearably smelly is right!. Never again!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

That fish sauce that you find on the table in real Vietnamese restaurants is enough to make my eyes water!. The dog market and place with the smoked pig faces in Korea also stank enough to bother me!.

Honestly though, there's no one ethnic type of food that I can't stand to smell; it's usually a certain dish or ingredient!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I can not stand the smell of sauerkraut!. -- I can't imagine how anyone eats it! -- I could never get it past my nose and into my mouth!

Same goes for seaweed!. A Japanese friends LOVES the stuff, and it gags me just to smell it! -- I know it is supposed to be good for you, but I think I would rather "die young" than eat that stuff! !

I bet other cultures hate our hot dogs and pizzas though! <LOL>

I guess it is just; "To Each His Own"!.
