Beef: steak frite (steak and fries, a bistro classic)

Vegetarian: French are not big on vegetarian food my friend!
maybe onion soup
baked brie or one of their hundreds of cheese
cheese souflé
some versions of cassoulet are vegetarian (a bean and vegetable based casserole)

Dessert: brioche (a sweet bread, cometimes filled with fruit)
mousse de marron (chestnut mousse, also chestnut creme)
tarte tatin (an upside down apple pie)
