Why do asian supermarkets smell so bad?!

Because there are some food we are not used to, like dried fish and durian!. Durian is a big fruit with spines It smells horrible but tastes nice!.
Well, after a while you get used to these "exotic" smells!. I guess that people who are not French, would have the same kind of "shock" in a French cheese shop!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The asian market I usually go to doesn't smell any different from any other market but I've been in a few that had a horrible smell of dried fish and squid!. Put a tiny dab of mentholatum under your nose before you go in the store if the smell bothers you that bad!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes here in Arizona too they smell bad!.!.It's because of the dried fish!.
What we do is before going there we put a dab of Fragrance on our wrist and before going in take a deep breath and smell the Fragrance when ever needed!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

they use a lot of fermented products that are overwhelming!. Heck yea its tough to take sometimes, but not as bad as a cheese store!. I love cheese, but why does it have to smell dirty feet!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

It isn't that they smell bad, they have a lot of very aromatic products that you are simply not used to when they all mix together!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think the smell comes from the herbs, preservative food or dried and marinated fish or other products from Asia!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
