How do Mexicans drink their coffee?!

Question: How do Mexicans drink their coffee!?
There is a recipe for "Mexican coffee" that is black coffee with cinnamon sticks and brown sugar!. I thought that generally, Mexicans drink coffee black!. This is from Kraft, so it's not like I exactly trust them as far as it comes to ethnic food, but maybe there's something I'm missing!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

In my experience unless you live in an area of Mexico where coffee is locally produced (like Veracruz where their locally grown coffee is really good), mexicans generally just drink the instant coffee!. We call it café Americano out of habit I guess!.

There is no "official" mexican way to drink coffee, you just drink coffee as you please!. Starbucks is very popular here (I personally find their coffee to be overrated and too expensive though)!. Some people drink it black, some with cream or sugar (mainly refined sugar in the big cities), there's no specific rule!.

One very mexican variation though is coffee flavored atole!. Atole is kind of like a watery form of corn flour pudding that you drink!. You can make atole of any imaginable kind of ingredients (vanilla, chocolate, oatmeal, rice, certain fruits, cajeta, etc!.!.)!. Coffee flavored atole is very delicious; probably made with instant coffee!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I grew up in west Texas where the population is about half Mexican and I've spent all my life exploring and traveling in Mexico and New Mexico!. They drink they're coffee just like everybody else!. They're hot cocoa though, with cinnamon and brown sugar, thickened with corn starch,,, is fantastic!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
