Start by googling Jamaican food!. From my experience salt fish and ackees (I think it may be the national dish) and peas and rice are very popular!. It is a tropical island so they have lots of fruit (guava, papaya, pineapple, bananas, melons - people sell them by the roadside) and veg (plantains fried like sliced potato are popular) and sea food!. It is a healthy diet mostly!. Callaloo is a popular green vegetable!. Curries and spicy food are typical -goat curry is fantastic!. They grow lots of chillies and other spices!. Sugar cane is eaten as a snack (chew it till the sweetness goes then spit out the remains)
Food and family are important, so lots of big meals happen with lots of different dishes that different people bring!. Hope that helps!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
