use your cooker, and follow the directions!. just use a different rice, as suggested above!. Use a good Basmati from India, not US Basmati!. This rice will have a nutty aroma, and cook up fluffy!. Short grain rice is a bit sticky, and some of it is best for use in other dishes!. All rices are different!. Experiment with the different types, but for now, if you want fluffy rice use only long grain rice, preferrably Indian Basmati or Chinese or California Jasmine rice!.

I think calrose is short grain rice which is sticky!. It's supposed to be that way!. If you want sticky rice, buy short grain!. Rice that holds its shape if you scoop it but the grains don't stick is medium grain rice!. For extra fluffy rice that won't stick if cooked right is long grain rice!. And don't rinse it!. It depends on the type of rice!. For some rice types it is desirable for them to be sticky!. For long grain rice like basmati you should wash it very well!. The Tibetans wash their rice eight times!. I find that when you are using a rice cooker that the 1cup rice to 1!.5 cup water ratio doesn't work!. It is fine if you are cooking rice on the stove top!. If you are using a rice cooker reduce your water to 1!.25 cups for every cup of long grain rice and don't forget to fluff your rice with a fork before serving!. Lightly separate the grains with the tines of the fork!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
