WHY IS THERE NO ETHNIC RESTARUANTS IN THE CENTRAL COAST OF CALIFORNIA?!

Question: WHY IS THERE NO ETHNIC RESTARUANTS IN THE CENTRAL COAST OF CALIFORNIA!?
The two cities of Santa Maria, and Lompoc are not diversified enough to allow African-Americans the chance to own or promote a restaruant or business due to a NO-GROWTH POLICY in their respective city halls !.!.!.WHY!? WHAT ARE THEY AFRAID OF!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I haven't been to Lompoc lately, but it's not exactly a thriving area!.!.!.the only reason people really go there at all is because it's on the way to Solvang!. It's more of a leave-us-alone small town type feeling, if there is such a thing along the CA coast!.

Santa Maria, no clue!. Never been there!.

However!.!.!.you have to look at the demographic and mindset there!. It's a touristy spot for Danish items, and that's what makes them money!. You also won't find too terribly many Mexican, Asian, or Middle Eastern restaurants there!. They've decided to stay small because that's actually the draw of the place - to get away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the coast!.

If you want to open an ethnic restaurant, you really need to know your demographics and work with them!. An African-American (or traditional African) restaurant probably wouldn't do too well in Chinatown or some parts of Garden Grove (Little Vietnam) either!.!.!.that doesn't mean that they're racist or afraid, just that you need to follow your demographic!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There are many ethnic restaurants in the area: Chinese, Japanese, Danish, Mexican and American cuisines are all available!. If there are no "soul-food" restaurants, and a market for it, I suggest you invest and help a young chef get started!.

City governments want vibrant businesses, and they can't afford to discriminate based on cuisine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

bullcrap!. Restaurants may be opened anywhere in the State of California, regardless of ethnicity!. People may choose not to patronize those restaurants based on their own tastes, but cities and counties can not arbitrarily deny permits based on the type of food offered!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

May be there is not a problem of fear or discrimination (you don't give to much details about the issue, so!.!.!.I could be wrong), but the most logic reason may concern to how can be invest in such concept!. Sounds like a nice idea to thing about it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
