After growing up around kimchi, i still think it stinks..and i notice the smell gets on other food in the frig?!
anyways, i am korean, and i grew up around having kimchi all the time in the fridge!.!.however, i never got "used to the kimchi smell" i am 24 now, and i still think kimchi stinks!.!.kimchi stew stinks!.!.i cant eat kimchi stew, kimchi fried rice!.!.kimchi pancakes!.!.pretty much everything with kimchi in it!. its too spicy for me anyways, i cant handle, tolerate spicy food!.!.my stomach feels weird!.!.and i dont feel good!./my tongue and mouth gets numb anywaysWww@FoodAQ@Com

Sorry to hear you can't eat spicy food!. I love and can't imagine what it would be like!. Surprising too since you are Korean!. I'm not but have been eating Kimchee since I was a kid!.
Yeah the smell ( like any strong smelling food ) can transfer to other foods!. It happens more if it is in plastic containers than in glass!. I keep the jar tightly sealed!.
