Chinese dessert recipes?!
Hello,
Tomorrow I'm attending this party where I have to be the one making the dessert!. The theme is Chinese, but I have a hard time finding any good enough dessert which would be Chinese, but still easy too make, and not just pudding or fruit sorbet!.
(There will be a couple of real Chinese people, so I don't want to make a fool of myself :) )
Please NO hard to get ingredients or shortenings!.
Thank you! :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Tiny tart shells filled with sweet egg custard are one of the few Chinese desserts that are casual and easy to prepare!.
These will need to be baked, gently using small toaster over preferably over a full size oven!.
I know that Dim sum means a type of meal that has many sorts of small dumplings that are used for the appetizers or to begin a meal!. Dim sum dumplings however are not applied as dessert generally!. For dessert A 'daan tart' (small custard-filled pastry) will do fine as a Chinese dessert!. Those were inspired by English fruit tart varieties but now generally accepted as finish to a dim sum meal!.
The result would be a plate of buttery egg custard tarts!.
note: These can turn out a greyish-green color and that's fine!.
Recipe for (Chinese egg tarts):
Makes about 24 tarts

Deep fried wonton wrappers with vanilla ice cream!. So good!. I kid you not! So darn easy to make too!.
Heat up the oil in a large pot
Add a few wonton wrapper at a time
Make sure they don't overlap or crowd the pot too much
Fry each side till crisp and light golden brown (1 to 2 min)
Drain cooked wonton on paper towel
To serve: put 1 wonton on a plate
Place a scoop of ice cream on top of the wonton
Place a second wonton wrapper on top of the ice cream
Scoop a second ball of ice cream on top of the wonton so it looks like a tower
Drizzle with optional favorite liquer and serve immediatelyWww@FoodAQ@Com
