Olives! Bad Odor, please help!! ?!

Question: Olives! Bad Odor, please help!! !?
Okay, so this has happened a few times to us here!. We go to make rice and beans or other things with olives and once they heat up they smell of feces or something similar!. It's really disgusting!. We've tried Goya, and every other brand that our markets offer!. This has been happening more and more often with olives!.
What is the problem!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I have never had this problem!. This is what I think:
1) if this ALWAYS happens, regardless of what brand you buy, then maybe they aren't 'defective'!. Is it just you who smells it, or anyone in your home!? I ask because a change in how things smell to you can be an indicator of a health condition!. My mom once started to think that certain things smelled awful that she used to like, and it was because of a severe sinus infection!.
2) if they SOMETIMES smell, make a note of what brand you used when that happens, and what ingredients are in the olives when it happens!. Do this every time, and compare the results for olives that smell and olives that don't!. I'm betting you will see some kind of pattern!. Foods these days have all kinds of weird ingredients in them, and there may be some funny preservative or food coloring that when heated smells bad!. This may especially be the case for olives, something that are commonly eaten cold!. Manufacturers may but in such a chemical thinking "no one will ever heat this, so why does it matter that when you heat it, it smells bad!?"
3) that said, try using olives that have been sliced!? People more often use those for heated applications (pizza, pasta sauce, etc!.) so maybe they don't put the mystery chemical in there, if there is a mystery chemical!.

That's the best advice I can give you, since I haven't had the problem myself! Good Luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I never noticed smelling a bad smell with olives!. If the smell of hot olives bothers U, throw them in cold after the dish is done!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

why the heck would you screw up a wonderful dish like rice and beans with olives!? Olives have their place, but they do stink up that place!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
