Authentic Chinese food comes from China!. The beef and broccoli and sweet and sour pork that you order from the takeout restaurant came from Chinese guy who come to US long time ago and had problems finding bak choy and black bean paste here!. He also need to find a way to make more money (from the Americans), so he took their vegetables and made it the Chinese way and called it the Chinese food you now find on that takeout menu!.
