Answers:
where i used to live (and work when i was younger) they used to put a fried egg on BOTH the special fried rice and the special chow mein!. They would put three slices of char siu pork and three slices of chicken on top with the fried egg in the middle then pour gravy, curry or BBQ sauce round the meat!. It was so yummy!! I go back there (The Wirral, NW England) when i want one cos where I live now (Warrington) doesnt do it!!

Cant beat it!! =0)

The original special fried rice does not have "a fried egg" on top of the rice!. The egg is supposed to have been beaten up and mixed in with the rice, together with other ingredients!.

Here in the US the rice comes with the egg mixed in!. Chinese and Thai food are popular here, and there are many dishes, so who knows there may be one such as you have described :)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
