You can make an easy saag using 1 t of tumeric, 1 T gharam masala, oil, onion, garlic and ginger!. Use any greens you like, although mustard greens are tradtional, spinach is much easier to find and also tastes good!.

1!. Warm the oil in a pot!. When it shimmers, sautee minced ginger and garlic, chopped onion till soft!.
2!. Push this to the side of the pot, to make the oil available for frying the spices!. Fry them in the oil for about 30 seconds, you'll smell them becoming fragrant!.
3!. Stir everything together and add the chopped greens!. If you're using frozen chopped spinach, you don't even have to let it thaw, just stir everything well till some of it melts and there's enough liquid that nothing burns!. If you're using fresh greens, you should add a tiny bit of liquid so that nothing burns!.
4!. Simmer till it's not very liquidy anymore !.!.!. stir in a tablespoon of cream (thick one like creme fraiche)!. You can use a thick yogurt, like a greek yogurt, if you want!.
5!. You'll have to season to taste with salt and can also season with a squeeze of lemon!.

I think it's tasty with rice and roti!. You can find this recipe in more detail and some others at my blog: http://rozminsrecipes!.blogspot!.comWww@FoodAQ@Com

Stirfry with any vegetable, along with salt, chili powder, and cumin!. Add it early so that the bitterness is cooked out, but don't add too much otherwise it's overpowering!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i add it to rice and couscous!. i cant say that i've added enough to notice its taste, though its colour makes everything look great!. how about the indian dish aloo gobi sp!? cauliflower and potato!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It is great with curry, or add to white rice to colour!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
