I am a former chef and while working for CP Hotels did a banquet in Winnipeg in the 1980's that was attended by QE2, we had a native chef make the traditional corn soup, he used pork bones, the processed corn, potato's, wild onions, but regular and some garlic are fine, and basically stewed it until everything was a soft mass, but still a bit of the corn kernels were whole!.

It is a soup you have let cook and season at the end or it will be to salty, and you can add herbs but that is not the native way, they used basic, live off the land ingredients!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
