Is there a difference between curry powder and red curry powder?!

Question: Is there a difference between curry powder and red curry powder!?
I made a recipe with red curry powder instead of regular curry powder, and the taste was a little intense!. I'm thinking red might be stronger!? Thanks in advanceWww@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
red curry often has dried ground red chilies!. if you mean spicy when you say intense, that could be why!. curry usually has an intense flavor because its a blend of spices!.

regular curry powder usually means "yellow" curry, which is simular to red but has turmeric in it that gives it the yellow color and can have the dried red chillies but doesnt have to!.

curry recipies can be a vary broad subject because many different cultures have different versions of it!. broad subject when it comes to food but a fun to learn about through tasteing hehWww@FoodAQ@Com

Curry powder is a spice blend but there is no recipe that is consistent!.

The mix of spices (cumin, tumeric, red pepper, cardamom!.!.!.!.etc) are unique to geography and sometimes family recipes!.

Not sure what red curry powder is but I have a few different blends that I like!. One of them is Madras style (which is a little hotter and my personal favorite)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Red curry powder is strong in red chillies!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

green & yellow curry powders are milder (i prefer the green)Www@FoodAQ@Com
